This is a beautiful Strad style antique model violin, handmade by my family in 2007. It is in an excellent condition. The back, the scroll, and the sides of the violin are made of highly flamed maple of great quality. The violin has a beautiful tone -- mature, mellow, warm and open, well balanced on all strings, and clear sounding with lovely resonance and volume. The violin is of concert quality, available for any orchestral or solo demands. The violin is full size with a total length of 23 1/8 . The violin is set up with DAddario Proarte Professional violin strings. The violin is sold without case nor bow, but we use two boxes to ship it for safety. Cashier s check, money order, Bank transfer or PayPal will be accepted. Don t miss it. The shipping fee to Canada and Mexico is $25.Please email me if you have any question about the shipping charge. This violin really sounds great. The violin you bid is exactly the same one seen in the pictures. Be confident to bid! Good luck!

~ Andreas Guarnerius fecit Cremona ~ Sub titulo Santa Teresia 1695 This magnificent violin has for many years been in possession of the descendants of Charles Frederick Durner, founder of the DURNER ORGAN WORKS - Quakertown, Pennsylvania, which operated from 1861 to 1932. Mr. Durner may have inherited the violin and, if so, would have been brought to the United States when he emigrated in 1859. This scenario could have been possible through Rosina Gauibier, a young French lady (of perhaps some nobility) when she married Conrad Durner, whom for a short while, received additional training from an organ builder in Lyon, France. The Durner family had also intermarried with the Goll family, the patriarch of which, Johann Ludwig Goll, founded the GOLL ORGAN COMPANY in about 1740 in Weilheim, Germany. Rosina (Gauibier) Durner was the great-great-grandmother of Harold Frederick Fluck Durner (1890-1967) whom, again possibly, would have inherited the violin from his forebears, retaining ownership until his death. It is known to have then passed into the hands of Harold s niece, Mary Jane Levenknight, who was the adopted daughter of Laura Catherine Fluck Durner Levenknight and Augustus Henry Levenknight. Mary Jane married Mr. Thomas J. Himmelsbach Sr. of Quakertown. I acquired the violin some years ago through the auspices of Thomas Himmels ...
